Udupi: Proper probe demanded into 'suspicious' death of Vanitha Rodrigues

Udupi, Jan 14:  The Bailkere Yuvaka Mandala led by former taluk panchayat member Sharath Kumar Bailakere has filed a complaint with the National Women's Commission urging for probe into the death of Vanitha Rodrigues. In the complaint, they have expressed suspicion regarding her death.  Earlier, due to health complications, Vanitha Rodrigues was admitted to a hospital on December 28, 2021. Unfortunately, she breathed her last on December 31, 2021.

The complainants have alleged that deceased Vanitha's husband has lied that his wife died after receiving the covid vaccine. They have accused him of being an abusive husband who always assaulted his wife.

 

The Bailakere group has also approached the Malpe police station demanding a detailed probe into the matter.

Meanwhile, the National Women's Commission  has urged the SP to conduct a detailed investigation into this matter.

Commission member Shamla Kunder is supporting the cause.

On Friday, January 14, the women members of Bailakere youth group submitted a memorandum to the Malpe police inspector. Tenkanidiyur Panchayat president Gayatri, vice president Arun Jathanna and members were present . President of Tenkanidiyur Sanjeevini Organisation Sukanya Shetty, Anganavadi teacher of Bailakere Sunitha and others were present.

    Looks like the Bailakere group is gossip mongara. I was there for her funeral in the church. Which of the marriage is perfect. Husband and wife do have differences, but live together in the strength of the sacrament they received holds them bound for each other in marriage. In Mangalore also one 33 year old married catholic woman died after receiving the vaccine in 2-3 days in hospital. So you call it that the husband was abusive? Bailakere group, pray for the soul, give tribute to your dear departed, instead of gossiping,

    The victim is from thottam and when the issue was raised the local church authorities silenced the matter and proceeded with cremation without discussion favoring her husband , the victims husband has seen to be hitting her and abusing her badly and is known abusive behavior , he should be jailed for such cruelty against her wife.

    If such is the case then the Bailkere Yuvaka Mandala and Vanitha's family members should have reported the matter to the police immediately after her death and asked for a postmortem. The guilty shouldn’t be allowed to let go so easily. It is highly unfortunate that our clergy, the so called upholders of ethics, morals and justice are siding with the culprit.

    I find it very seltsome that she died on end December ,before that was hospitalized ,and noone doubted about her death or why she was hospitalized.Now after 14 days ,they come with doubts.Still better than be tight lipped.Noone noticed any marks on her body or anything she said.Now investigate about her problems ,why she was hospitalized or ask her known people.whether she told anyone any problems,when she was vaccinated.And doctors?Cause of death given ?May her soul rest in peace.

    There are plenty of Alcohol addicts who are abusing their wives, children day in & out under the influence of Alcohol. God only save them because Alcohol drinking is legal in the country, nobody can protect them.

    Better Investigate. Anyway both ways are possible, also covid deaths or vaccine deaths mostly no autopsy conducted so good chance to save many if it is from vaccines.     Readers, if this lady was in a abusive relationship.. then the NWC must conduct a detailed investigation with police assistance, the family, neighbors will definitely spill the beans, there should not be any coverup, for alleged crimes committed by husband...

    May Vanitha's soul rest in peace. Request the Police dept. to investigate this case. In the name of Covid some murders also must have taken place. Hospital Doctor surely know the real cause of death. If not Covid Vaccine then the abusive husband and his people in the house must face the consequences. Innocent lives can not be buried just like that.

    She died in the hospital. I am sure hospital has all records on her condition when she arrived and the treatment there after. It should not be very difficult to elucidate the real cause of death and if in fact the abusive husband is responsible, show him the real world of accountability.
