Karnataka's reports 28,723 new Covid cases, 14 deaths in last 24 hours

Bengaluru, Jan 14: Karnataka on Friday January 14 registered 28,723 new coronavirus cases.

As per the bulletin released by the state health department, the active cases in the state stand at 1,41,337. Bengaluru Urban's single-day tally stood at 20,121.

As many as 14 deaths due to coronavirus were reported in the state on Friday, the death toll in the state has risen to 38,411.

The state recorded 3,105 discharges from hospitals on Friday, taking the total discharges to 29,73,470.

So far, Karnataka has seen 31,53,247 positive cases since the start of the pandemic in March 2020.

The positivity rate for the day stands at 12.98% while the case fatality rate for the day is 0.04 %.

As many as 9,12,27,794 people have received vaccination so far.

    Schools are closed in Bangalore as students are super be spreaders. Schools should be closed in Mangalore also as cases have shot up above 600. A lot of children have fallen sick in private schools but nobody is bothered to test for COVID infections there. The concerned department should wake up and close schools for now be before more children and their families get infected.

    Dont do any lockdowns .. One who is really sick cannot move .. One who is healthy will move ..But if its like common cold ..then why worry ., IF the govt announces lock down ,it should follow with loan moratorium and compensation for the business losses that will occur ..If they cannot do that then better to lock the govt itself.

    Dont do unscientific lockdown...In Netherlands, Covid cases is 35000 daily even after doing strict lockdown for 1 month....Close all schools and colleges for 1 month because of cluster outbreak in schools and colleges.. Also ban all gatherings for 1 month or 2. Put police in public places to monitor whether people are following covid norms...Also police should announce in mic as 'Omicron is more dangerous virus' in cities and villages so that people will fear and follow covid norms..
