Mangaluru/Udupi, Jan 14: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, January 14, reported 693 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 497 cases.

The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,20,183 out of which 2,990 are currently active.

As many as 299 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,706.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,12,71,280 as fine in 93,192 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 497 new cases were reported on Friday. Udupi reported 354 cases, Kundapura 68 and Karkala 70.

462 patients are in home isolation, 22 in designated Covid hospitals and 13 in Covid care centres.

Total active Covid cases has risen to 2,335.

 A total of 76 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. Coronavirus has claimed 491 lives in the district so far.

So far 10,13,258 people have received the first dose of vaccination, while 8,54,521 have received the second dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.

    Yes exactly. Actual discharge cases are also on equally higher side but BJP dalals planning to loot and plunder to forward to larger big Feku account PM cares fund.
