Mangalore: District Level Pratibha Karanji ‘Vaibhava 2010’ Inaugurated

Mangalore, Dec 13: Pratibha Karanji, two-day talent contest for primary and high school students of the district, was inaugurated at Loyola Hall of St Aloysius Pre-university College here on Monday December 13.

It has been organized under the joint auspices of the Dakshina Kannada District Public Education Department, Block Education Office and St Aloysius High School, Kodialbail.
 
Dakshina Kannada Zilla Sahitya Parishad president Pradeep Kumar Kalkura inaugurated the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Kalkura said that tthe contest is not only helpful for the young children to showcase their talent, but also to acquire new skills. Moreover, the children are exposed to a brighter world by mingling with other children, he observed. 

The stage programme was initiated with the prayer song by Aloysius students. Dayavati, education officer welcomed the gathering. Zilla Pratibha Karanji nodal officer Surekha delivered the keynote speech. K Anand, orator, Teachers' Education College, Mangalore unveiled the Pratibha Karanji tree. C Chamegowda, deputy director of public instructions presided.

Fr Melvyn Pinto distributed the mementos to the guests. Balakrishna, co-ordinator delivered the vote of thanks. Umesh K R and Manjula Shetty compered the programme.
