Mangaluru: Khader demands weekend curfew to be withdrawn

Mangaluru, Jan 17: MLA U T Khader demanded the state government to withdraw the weekend curfew.

Addressing media here on Monday January 17, Khader said, “The state government is playing hide and seek with the people and instilling fear among public over Omicron. It is well aware that people do not have any risk from the virus and so far not a single death has taken place due to Omicron. The state government took the decision over weekend curfew not to safeguard the public. It was a politically motivated decision to derail Mekedatu padayatra.

“The weekend curfew has pushed people into deep trouble. The daily wage workers and vegetable vendors are facing problems. Many have ended up losing their jobs as well due to the weekend curfew.

“The government should take steps to create awareness on wearing masks, maintaining social distance and take all kind of precautionary measures. The laboratory at Wenlock hospital faces pressure due to lack of staff. There are no technicians in the community health centers. The government should take steps to provide the same,” he said.

Khader also condemned the BJP-led union government for rejecting Kerala's Brahmashree Narayana Guru tableau design for the upcoming Republic Day parade. He also urged MP Nalin Kumar Kateel to speak about it. The central government is spreading a message of rejecting the ideologies of Brahmashree Narayana Guru, he said.

    Dear politicians, will you take responsibility for deaths due to the increase in covid cases when lockdown is removed? People are blaming the government for no reason. The government is reacting to the increased cases by placing lockdown. But what is causing the increased cases? No masks, no vaccinations and no social distancing are the reasons. Go outside and see.. not a single fellow wearing masks. Why people are not criticizing their fellow citizens for not following rules? It is because of them that government has to put lockdown no? If lives are lost you will blame government, if money is lost you will blame government. What is government supposed to do if you will complain no matter what? In the long run, the human lives are more important than money. Money will come back, life will not. People, why are up prioritizing money over health?

    I agree night curfew and weekend curfew is not stopping increasing cases. Perhaps your implying we need full week lockdown to stop corona completely? Our 2 options are full lockdown. Second option is to ask people to wear masks follow social distancing but this is too inconvenient. So full lockdown seems best. Agree? Please inform if your great mind has better solution

    If there was no curfew, Khader would have asked to implement curfew immediately!. I think a leader should be allowed to server more than 2 or perhaps 3 terms in a constituency. Not more than that. It has to be on a rotation basis. This applies even for our favorite Benki Kumar Kateel. One cannot carry on balling around for 25-30 years. Come on!

    Please remove all restrictions Sir. Weekend curfew has no meaning. Also please dont force vaccination on children. Every year winter season there is cold and fever. If tested then positive. Actually corona is just a normal virus. If we see news in TV we will die before contracting corona.

    Rightly said True indian , when the death rate is less there is no need of lockdown or curfew . Every other disease have deaths like cancer , heart attack . So as per the logic than there should be lockdown even for that .. Such Stupid logic by some media , Goverment and Opposition leaders .
