Cong has no moral right to criticise’
Bangalore, Dec 14 (DHNS): Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Monday hit out at the Congress for labelling his government as corrupt, saying it does not have moral right to criticise others as it has made the entire country hang its head in shame over the 2G spectrum scam.
“By refusing to order a JPC probe into the scam, it has insulted every citizen of this country,” he stated reacting to Congress President Sonia Gandhi’s comment that corruption was rampant in Karnataka.
Instead of bringing good name to the country, the Congress-led UPA Government brought shame by misusing hundreds of crores of rupees meant for organising the commonwealth games. “I have great respect for Sonia Gandhi and Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. I understand their predicament at this juncture,” he stated, avoiding any personal attack on them.
Yeddyurappa, who had recently come under severe criticism from the opposition parties over his alleged involvement in land scams, further said people of Bihar have already taught an appropriate lesson to the Congress party in the recent elections. That is the reason its leaders have started deserting the party, he added, in an indirect reference to former chief minister S Bangarappa’s plans to quit the Congress and join the JD(S).
