Udupi: Youth Congress leader Reena D'Souza stabbed, hospitalised

Udupi, Jan 22: Reena D'Souza (35), Youth Congress general secretary of Kaup block, was stabbed by a person on the evening of Friday January 21.

The injured Reena was admitted into Fr Muller Medical College Hospital Mangaluru for treatment. It is said that a neighbor of Reena stabbed her for frivolous reasons.

Reportedly, the lady was speaking to someone near her house in Hejamady when the man, identified as Vinay (36), her neighbour, approached her all of a sudden and stabbed her in the stomach.

Padubidri police have taken Vinay into custody. He is being questioned. It is felt that Vinay, who is a liquor addict, would have attacked Reena for silly reasons as no personal enmity between the two appear to exist.

Reena is undergoing surgery now and the police are yet to question her and obtain her statement.

    Very Sad, deplorable Grave as well as dangerous things are happening in our such a nice place like Mangalore. I only hope and pray that these unwanted behaviour is NOT ACCEPTABLE any where; and hope the Authorities will take stringent action against the culprit. Sadly our dear sister Reena is now undergoing Surgery and Care and very soon she will be back on our sceen. LORD YOU KNOW EVERYTHING; PLEASE DO TAKE CARE OF REENA !!!
