Mangalore, Dec 17: Angered by the brutal murder of a three-year-old girl in the name of black magic by a couple near Yeyyadi here on Friday December 17, a mob of around 300 people attacked and vandalised the Kadri police station on the same day at around 7.30 pm.

The mob demanded the police to hand over the accused, Kamalaksha and Chandrakala, and to let them punish the couple in their own way. However, the police refused saying that it is a matter for the police and that the couple have been only accused so far. They also said that investigations are on in the matter.

Enraged by the refusal, the mob began pelting stones and launched an attack on the police station, breaking window panes and damaging property.

Unable to control the furious crowd, the police resorted to lathi-charge, following which the mob dispersed.

Around 15 bikes on which some of the people arrived at the police station were seized by the police but their owners fled the place.

No arrests have been made so far.

Also, to prevent further disturbances, tight police security has been deployed at the house of the accused which had been attacked earlier in the day.

People do not want to work hard and resort to black magic and other evils to satisfy their greed for so called wealth in which innocents become the victims for no fault of theirs. I wonder how the parents of such a small child left her to wander just like that. Children are not safe in this kalyug, evil World. The culprit couple should be hanged to death in full view of public so that in future nobody will dare commit such crimes on innocent small children, who cannot protect themselves.

Black magic is predominate in Mangalorean society which crosses the religious boundaries, this spiritual (evil) act is always resorted by people of weak mind and character who is basically jealous of everyone around them especially close relatives and friends for money, land and some times just for vengeance, usually to break close bonds of husband and wife, families and friendship.
I personally know people who have suffered and still suffering due to this act, but then they cannot go to the police/law to seek justice for such heinous acts, but we can only break its influence by praying to the almighty to bestow Grace and justice.
Be aware of such sub human beings they are still living amongst us.

Best part was "tight police security has been deployed at the house of the accused".. The people who practise black magic should be able to protect their own property I feel, why police security I wonder.

The emotions were no doubt running high. I hope the Police will be highly investigative to question them and completely understand the accused so that they could trace many other maniacs in this business and bring a logical conclusion to this case. The locals have sent a right message to the Police that any under the table transaction followed by bail will not do. I really hope Daijiworld will do its bit in the case.

Black magic is not a big issue since our own chief Minister himself believing ,practicing and supporting it. Here a innocent child became the victim of black magic and few weeks before some innocent donkeys are slaughtered in a ritual to kill the chief minister. Members of animal welfare society should look in to the earlier case.

I saw the same in TV. There was no need for police to react that way with the people. It only shows their ineffiency to handle the situation.Even the trafic ploice found hitting peole. real voilation of human rights. Commissioner has to give an explation on this. Who gave them the order to hit innocent people??

There are rules and regulation for our country we cant simply break them and take law in our own hand. Couples should punish according to the law but not according to emotion of the people.
