Mumbai, Dec 19: The success is not measured in terms of wealth. The self confidence in an individual is everything.  It’s unfortunate that the corrupt in the society are being felicitated along with the genuine achievers in the same stage, said former CJI and Karnataka lokayukta Nitte Sathosh Hegde.

Hegde was speaking after inaugurating fifth annual day celebrations of Mulund Bunts during a function held at Kalidas Natya Mandir, Mulund (West), here on Saturday December 18 evening. The Bunts community has made their strides in filmdom, hotel industry, mega industries including legal and other spheres in the country, thereby provided employment opportunities to thousands of people due to their professional excellence, said Hegde.

The new generation of Bunts has bright future, while the parents are urged to remind their children over the true happiness. The wealth gained through corrupt ways will not last longer, while the hard earned wealth legally will remain in the family for generations, Hegde added. 

Further Hegde urged the community brethrens to be a role model in the society by earning within the framework of law which will give them happiness.

Mulund Bunts president Nagriguttu Vivek Shetty presided. 

Bunts Sangh president Aikala Harish Shetty and Telugu movie actor Anushka Shetty were the guests of honour. The veterans of Bunts community – Devdas Shetty (arts), Shantaram Shetty (industry), Shubha Sudarshan Hegde, Shankar Shetty, Rachana Shetty and Nikhil Shetty were honoured on the same occasion.

Anushka Shetty said that she had the notion that Bunts Milan was just a gathering of 40 – 50 veterans.  However, she was overwhelmed by the large gathering of community during the fifth anniversary celebrations of Mulund Bunts. It has inspired her to promote the rich cultural hierarchy of community, said Anushka.

Sandalwood music director Gurukiran said that he has been long associated with Mulund Bunts and hoped it becomes a stage to display the rich cultural hierarchy of Bunts community.

N Vivek Shetty felicitated veteran of community and lokayukta Santhosh Shetty during the programme.

Speaking on the occasion, Aikala Harish Shetty said that N Vivek Shetty indeed brought honour to the entire Bunts community through an association of Mulund Bunts. The entire community from across the metro arrived to witness fifth anniversary of Mulund Bunts which shows unity of brethrens, said Harish Shetty.  

Mulund Bunts joint secretaries Prabhakar N Shetty and Anant K Adyantyaya, joint treasurers Hemanth V Shetty, women wing president Sujatha K Shetty, vice president Sarala R Shetty, secretary Mamatha M Shetty, treasurer Meenakshi R Shetty, joint treasurer Roopa J Shetty, building committee president Ultoor Mohandas Shetty, cultural committee president B Srinivas Shetty and others were present.

N Vivek Shetty also honoured Karnataka Coastal Development Authority chairman B Nagaraj Shetty, Telugu actor Anushka Shetty’s parents - Nadumogeru Vittal Shetty and Prafulla V Shetty, veteran of community M D Shetty, MP Sanjay Patil, Sandalwood music director Gurukiran, Kannada movie – Gaggara movie director, producer and national award recipient Shivadwaj Puttur, Chinnara Bimba, children’s play troupe promoter Prakash Bhandary, Bombay Bunts Association president Jayant K Shetty, JAVAB president Raghu L Shetty, Paramanand Salian, Chandrashekar Suvarna Mulky, Kollur Krishnaprasad Adyantaya.

Lahari Shetty rendered the prayers. Chief secretary Palimar Vasant N Shetty presented the annual report. Convenor Suresh B Shetty, vice-president Dr Satyaprakash Shetty, women wing joint secretary Soni R Shetty introduced the guests. Honorary treasurer K Jaya Sooda proposed the vote of thanks.

 Ramachandra Rao B C Road, Kadri Navaneet Shetty and Harish Vasu Shetty compered the programme.

Variety cultural and entertainment programmes were staged by the members of Mulund Bunts at the occasion. Sandalwood music director Gurukiran staged a musical extravaganza.
