Rachana Award is a good concept recognising the good work done by the Minority Community. This should spread to the Rural Area so that Rural Youth gets motivated,Enterprise and grow. The message of this kind should be done in All Churches on Sunday Mass. That is a strong Media for us to communicate to our Rural Mass.

Wish All Awardees a great Future.

Congratulations Dada on receiving the Rachana award for agriculture 2010!!
We are proud of you. You have worn many a hat, from an Academic (Milagres College Kallianpur) to a scientific agriculturist. Like our ancestors who were once renowned tradesmen and farmers who brought prosperity to the lands they tilled, may you continue to inspire our community.

I do agree with Margaret Alva that women should be given priority to avert leadership crisis. But our catholic Institutions should take the initiative and admissions to should not be denied to young aspiring girls. Poor young girl students are denied seats in catholic Colleges, just because they cannot pay the fees. Almighty will bless if the Extraordinary poor eligible candidates are taken careof by the christian schools. I am sorry to say this is not happening. The Rachana Award must consider the well deserved poor to achieve their goals especially the talented Women. It is eye opener for christians at large. Thanks to Margaret Alva and God Bless you.

19th December 2010, A historic day for Konkani.

Firstly Mandd Sobhan celebrates the final day of the World Konkani Cultural Convention which is graced by many dignitaries such as our CM Yeddyurappa and LK Advani. The event showcases the rich culture of Konkani and its people.

On the other hand Rachana organises its annual event wherein awards are bestowed to deserving individual in the Konkani community who have led by example and rightly merit the recognition given to them.

It is shameful to note that these two foremost organisations in Mangalore that represent a “dying” community cannot work together. They both claim that one of their objectives is promoting Konkani and ensuring its continuity. I am of the opinion that this is a sorry example we set to our future generation. How can we preach what we cannot practice?

To quote John F Kennedy “Mankind must put an end to war or war will put an end to mankind”

Taking the quote in our context we Konkani speaking people need to work together ALWAYS making allowances and adjustments and set an example where out progeny will be proud to call themselves Konkans and speak Konkani with pride.
