Bantwal, Jan 29: Additional civil judge of JMFC court acquitted the person who justified the murder of renowned scholar and academic Prof M M Kalburgi six years ago.
The acquitted is identified as Bhuvith alias Bhuvith Shetty (25) resident of Pallamajalu, Modankaup of B Mooda village. He was arrested in 2015 in connection to posting a derogatory message against writers U R Ananthamurthy, M M Kalburgi, and KS Bagawan on the death of writer M M Kalburgi on Twitter.
It may be recalled that on August 30 in 2015, writer M M Kalaburgi was murdered. Then Bhuvith had tweeted derogatory post against writers U R Ananthamurthy, MM Kalburgi, and KS Bhagawan through his Twitter account. The issue had become a controversy at the national level. The Bantwal town police later booked a case. Police sub-inspector Nandakumar after investigating, had filed a charge-sheet to the court.
Bantwal additional civil judge and judge of JMFC court Shilpa G Thimmapur acquitted the accused from the case.
Advocates Prasad Kumar Rai P and Shubhalatha argued in favour of the accused.
