Mangalore, Dec 21:
Cultural music troupe, Rag Rang ®, will hold ‘Savi Savi Nenapu’, a programme of magical melodies sung by Dr S P Balasubramaniam, at the Town Hall here at 6.00 pm on Saturday December 25. It will be staged in aid of orphanages, old age homes, and AIDS victims. A similar programme will also be presented at Poornaprajna auditorium in Udupi at 6.00 pm on Friday December 24.

The programme in the city will be graced by Rajashekarananda Swamiji of Vajradehi Mutt, Gurpur, while city mayor, Rajani Dugganna, will preside over the programme. Dakshina Kannada district-in-charge minister J Krishna Palemar, Sandalwood music director Gurukiran, municipal chief whip, Ranganath Kini, and taluk Congress Sevadal chief organizer, Haji H M Ashraf, will be the chief guests.

The Udupi event will be presided over by local municipal president, Kiran Kumar, while MLA, Raghupati Bhat, Shiroor Mutt Diwan, Latavya Acharya, entrepreneur, Pramod Madhwaraj, and Congress leader, M A Gafoor, will participate as chief guests.

Rag Rang is an event management organization, which organizes classical music, light music, Bharatanatyam, folk and film dances, and other cultural programmes. It also organizes variety entertainment and fusion music by combining music and dance. 
 
Ravindra Prabhu is adept at singing devotional, folk, filmi and light songs with equal élan. He has the latent ability to sing semi-classical songs and Ghazals rendered by eminent Hindi singers in his own unique style.  He has been in the field of music for the past two decades.  The district administration has honoured him with the Suvarna Karnataka Rajyotsav District Award and between 1990 to 2010, he has presented over 5,000 musical shows at many popular stages all over India and in the Gulf. He will be visiting Muscat to perform a show on January 21, 2011. 

Ravindra Prabhu is a gifted singer, who renders devotional, folk, and film songs with equal élan.  He has the special ability to sing semi-classical songs and ‘Ghazals’ by eminent Hindi singers Mohammed Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Mukesh, Manna De, and Kannada singers Dr Rajkumar, Dr S P Balasubramaniam, P B Srinivas, C Ashwath, and Puttur Narasimha Nayak, in his own unique style.  He has been in the field of music for the past two decades.
