Abu Dhabi, Dec 22: The Koosamma Shambu Shetty Memorial Throwball Tournament will be held at Abu Dhabi Indian School Ground on January 14, 2011 from 8 am to 6 pm.

M K Lokesh, Indian Ambassador to UAE will inaugurate the tourney. Dr B R Shetty and Dr Chandrakumari BR Shetty will preside.

The tournament this time is not only meant for ladies but also for men and children below the age of 18.

Teams

There will be 10 teams of ladies - seven teams from UAE, two teams from Kuwait and one team from Bangalore. There will be three teams of under-18 girls from Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Bangalore (Asian Throwball Federation) respectively. Six gents’ team is expected from all over UAE.

Three Memorial Trophies

1. Open to all KSSM ladies Throw ball Tournament (Players - 9 + 3)
2. Open to all KSSM girls (unde-18 years) Throw ball Tournament (Players - 7 + 2)
3. Open to all KSSM gents Throw ball Tournament (Players - 7 + 2)

About the Tourney
 
The Koosamma Shambu Shetty Memorial Throwball Tournament started in 1989 and IS being conducted for the last two decades.  The tournament is recognized as the best Throw ball tournament conducted anywhere in the region with participation from the GCC countries and India for the last several years.  Year after year record number of teams and spectators are witnessing the prestigious tournament.
 
Lunch will be provided to the teams and spectators. The prize distribution ceremony will be held in the evening.

For entries one can mail to sarvo@eim.ae on or before January 10, 2011.No entry fees for the teams. Fixtures will be drawn on the same day of the event. All rights reserved and the organizers decisions in all matters will be final.
