City Decked Up in Christmas Joy - Celebrations from Across Parishes

Daijiworld Media Network - Mangalore

Mangalore, Dec 24: Christmas eve in the city resounded with the jingling of bells and carol singing across the parishes here on Friday December 24 evening. The entire city has been decked with sparkling lights and twinkling stars in celebration of the birth of Jesus Christ the Saviour.

Christians around the city attended special mass organised in churches with great devotion. Apart from carols, Christmas trees with their vibrant decorations and a variety of cribs marked the celebrations.

Christmas Mass was held in the evening in various churches of the city. At Rosario Cathedral the Mass began at 10 pm. The mass in all the churches was preceded by carol singing.

Bishop Dr Aloysius Paul D'Souza concelebrated the grand mass. In his address he said that Jesus Christ was the creation of god, and to be one among us he incarnated as a common poor human being. Through this he taught us the essence of love, peace and harmony. The bishop also wished everyone a very happy and peaceful new year.

The Christmas Mass at Rosario Cathedral was webcast live on Daijiworld.

thank you Daiji for the write up with beautiful pics.
It was a sad experience for us in Salmiya Kuwait where some people started throwing eggs to people standing outside the church after the 7.15 pm mass.

Very wonderful and beautiful celebrations carried out by the disciplined Christians of Mangalore and world over. 1 Thessalonians 5: 5. "Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness. 6. Therefore let us not sleep, as do others but let us watch and be sober. 7. For they that sleep sleep in the night and they that be drunken are drunken in the night. 8. But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love and for an helmet, the hope of salvation. 9. For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ," May the joy and happiness love and kindness of the Prince of Peace, Jesus the eternal word existed eternally, the redeemer of the world may dwell in all our hearts through our righteousness and politeness. Wishing you all the best and merry Christmas to daijiworld web portal readers, commentators, well wishers, daijiworld photographers, staff, journalists, the supporting team and the editor and the editor in chief for their efforts in publishing the news and T.V. possible to relay all over the world. May Our Lord Jesus bless all of us.
