'Memorable' Evening with 'Savi Savi Nenapu'

It was an evening to remember as acclaimed singer Ravindra Prabhu regaled music buffs with melodies after magical melodies by Dr S P Balasubramaniam at ‘Savi Savi Nenapu’ by cultural troupe Rag Rang at Town Hall here on Saturday December 25.

Muncipal chief whip Ranganath Kini, the chief guest at the programme inaugurated the musical evening. Singers K S Surekha, Abbas K R, Sangeetha Balachandra also enthralled the gathering by singing old Hindi and Kannada songs. Dance performance by Blossoms dance academy kids was heartily applauded by the audience.
 
The event was staged in aid of orphanages, old age homes, and AIDS victims. On the occasion Bharath Karkera of Samvedana School was given a cheque for the benefit of the kids in that school.
 
Rag Rang is an event management organization, which organizes classical music, light music, Bharatanatyam, folk and film dances, and other cultural programmes. It also organizes variety entertainment and fusion music by combining music and dance.
 
Ravindra Prabhu is adept at singing devotional, folk, filmi and light songs with equal élan. He has the ability to sing semi-classical songs and Ghazals rendered by eminent Hindi singers in his own unique style. He has been in the field of music for the past two decades, staging around 5,000 musical shows all over India and in the Gulf.
