Udupi, Dec 27: The historically famous Arasu Kambala, buffalo race of Mulky neighbourhood comprising 106 pairs of buffaloes was held here from Sunday December 25 to Monday December 27 afternoon.
 
MP Nalin Kumar Kateel presided over the stage programme held on Sunday evening. Speaking on the occasion, he urged the locals to patronize the heroic sport of Kambala that has a history spanning many centuries in the coastal district.

 

Kambala juror and retired principal Gunapal Kadamba said that Arasu Kambala has survived for long in the entire Mulky neighbourhood. He also advised to set up seating arrangements on either side of the venue for better viewing of the sport.
 
It is significant that the contestants of the forthcoming ZP, TP elections and local politicians also arrived at the venue to campaign.
 
Bellary entrepreneur Suresh Shetty, Belgaum entrepreneur Bola Raghuram Shetty, Kolnad Pademane Ajit Rai, Praveen Bhoja Shetty Yedmemar M H Ravindra Poonja among others were present.

    Very nice snaps of Mulki Seeme Arasu Kambala. I am very pleased to see that in Dubai. I miss a lot. Because it is my native place mega event. Anyway, I would like to give thanks Daijiworld for reflect the snaps of Kambala worldwide.
