Mangalore, Dec 28: Mangalore Management Association conferred the Outstanding Manager Award 2010 on union minister for law and justice M Veerappa Moily at a programme held in SDM College of Business Management hall on Tuesday December 28. The award was presented by Indian Overseas Bank chairman and managing director, M Narendra.
 
This award was conferred on Moily considering his individual progress, exploration in his field of work, administrative excellence, quality of leadership, contribution to the society, social status, moral values, excellent communication capability and seniority among other criteria.

Accepting the honour, Moily asserted that the decade 2010 to 2020 will be a decade of innovation as the management field is being given high importance in countries like India, US, China, Japan and others. Merely having more number of laws is not enough, one should ensure that there is justice prevailing in the society, he stressed. He called upon the youth to take up innovative activities.
 
Century Group managing director Dr P Dayananda Pai was the guest of honour on the occasion.
 
President of the association M Shekar Pujari, immediate past president of the association Dr Devaraj, vice-president T G Shenoy and secretary U Rama Rao among others were present.

    A Great Man.Man from poor family rached such a high position in Indian govt due to his intelligent n Knowledge. Its better if we read books written by him to know the dept of his knowledge which made him to take up this position.Being law Minister he has done commendable job which people in legal field are aware.

    Mr.Moily has been given very important portfolio in the Union Ministry is because of his good manargical capabilities. People who are closely associated with him can see this whenever they deal with him.

    Hence SDM college of Business Admistration must have rightly chose him as a good manager.

    Apart from this Mr. Moily is good writer too. We the people of Karnataka should be proud of such a personality when Karnataka is filled with incapable politicians ruling the state.

    Bunch of people craving for attention and photo-op. Mangalore Management Association...what's their agenda other than conducting such ceremonies? Of all the criteria, leadership is the most funny one that Moily satisfied. For me he is just a longest serving community leader commanding majority community vote base. That's why Congress wants him and for that matter any political party would want anyone like him....and now MMA also wants one like him, and they expressed that intention by conferring him this award.

    Mike, M.V Moily ex CM of Karnataka,Industy minister in URS cab,Cab minister in G Rao cab,Ex chairaman of TAX SUDHARANA and ADALITHA SUDHARNA Commission,A highly learned (ofcourse lawyer)think tank group in cong/politics and present Union Law minister, Senior Congress Leader who was elected MP from C.Ballapur,yes as Langooocharya said,DK people rejected him twice but PRABHUDDHA MATHADARA of C.BALLAPUR elected him to become coveted post of cabinet member of UPA.Hailing from Moodabidri/Marpady of Karkal Taluk from an poor family backround ,Moodabidri Veerappa Moily is an ICON figure in Indian politics today.So Mike,Cananda imagine from where to where?!FYI he could be next candidate for President of India if not for PM of India.We Kannadiga,especially Tuluva proud of him.

    I am not qualified to comment on other issues....

    Regarding moral values, I give him extremely high marks because of infamous moily tapes of 1983 and CBI chargesheet against moily in JMM bribery case along with PVN, chargesheet alleges among other things bribe money travelled in which Indian Airlines plane from Bangalore to Delhi(who carried it in suitcases!), date, time, flight number, who sat with Dr M Veerappa Moily in that flight(Mr Adikesavulu, excise baron).....Very high moral values indeed....I am proud to be a mangalorean, among gentlemen in the dias and audience...

    In his defense to be fair to Moily he may say he was accquitted in the case, hence innocent,,, and people of Chickaballapur have voted for him after this incidence.....

    While saluting mature voters(of Karnataka) who voted for honest people like Moily, I end this comments.....

    DK should be happy that there is an honest emminent lawyer, poet,politician who has pioneered many things un this country.to name a few- The National Law School University.His tenure as the Chairman of Revenue Reforms Commission Karnataka 2000  2002 resulted in a report in 2003 on recommending reforms in Irrigation, Health, Education and Forest Departments. Revenue increases of Rs. 1800 crores from the commission's recommendations.Established the Karnataka Urban Infrastructure Development and Finance Corporation (KUIDFC) to formulate and appraise infrastructure development projects, mobilization of funds from different sources, implementation of urban infrastructure projects, and capacity building/training on urban development issues.

    Initiated various projects such as the International Airport in Bangalore, International Convention Centre, Konkan Railway, and National Games village in Bangalore.His achievements in the field of Industry were also a trail blazing event in Karntaka. He laid the foundation for the growth of Information Technology industry in Bangalore through various incentives to Indian and multinational companies. He established the International Information Technology Park (ITPL) at Whitefield in Bangalore He established the Electronic City, an IT industrial estate at Anekal, Karnataka. Electronic City now exports Rs. 25,000 crores worth of software per annum. many more !!!!!

    Good Choice by MMA because he is the man behind Governer who had taken the Karnataka Politics to such a low level and also tried his best to defeat the democracy with all CRAZY ideas and cleverly passed on to JD(S).
