Mangaluru Feb 14: A video has been surfacing in social media with a content reflecting issues on Hijab row claiming it as an incident that occurred in a private college in city.

Police Commissioner N Shashikumar in a video message has denied the  occurrence of the widely circulated incident in Mangaluru. The video that has surfaced in social media does not belong to the Mangaluru city police limits and it belongs to some other part of the state, he clarified.

"The mischief mongers have taken the reference of a private college and other reputed colleges in Mangaluru. The student community, organisations, citizens, parents, educational institutions, leaders of various organisations and political parties have cooperated in ensuring that such incidents are averted. I appeal to the people of Mangaluru City Police Commissionerate not to be carried away by such fake videos and false information. There is total peace prevailing and it will remain so. I appeal to all the students, parents and citizens to cooperate with the police department and district administration in ensuring that peace prevails", Shashikumar appealed.
