Bantwal, Feb 14: RSS leader Dr Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat has opined that the Hijab controversy is a seed of division of the country.
Speaking in a religious meeting at Sajipanadu here on Monday, February 14, he said that the division of the country in the past did not happen in a day. “It began with the curbing of the Vande Mataram song. Similarly Hijab controversy may go further upto demanding a place to perform Namaz in the class and holiday on Friday.
Hindu society does not do anything directly but only reacts. Hindu society does not run away with fear. They came wearing saffron shawls in retaliation to Hijab. It was not wrong. I congratulate and shout slogans of victory to the youth who wore saffron shawls", Bhat asserted.
"It is being said that the Hijab row will vitiate the schools. Thousands of students have taken to the streets like it was during the freedom struggle and declared emergency. Let the schools shut down if it comes to that. Religion and country are more important. There will be schools if there is nation, religion and culture,” he said.
