Election Malpractice – Cash, Vehicle Seized, 16 Held

Bantwal, Dec 31: In Golthamajal zilla panchayath constituency here, the Bantwal town police team led by Venkatesh Prasanna and Nanjegowda has held 16 people belonging to congress and BJP parties.

A Total of 1.24 lac cash and 20 mobile phones have been seized from them. Golthamajal was categorized as hyper sensitive constituency.
 
It is said that major gang war would have occurred between the team as they were luring the voters by distributing money. Their movements seemed suspicious to police.
 
The arrested BJP workers are Srikanth Shetty, Jayaram Shetty, Swaroop Shetty, Rajkiran and Charan Kumar. Rs 69,205 cash and a scorpio vehicle belonging to the party workers has been seized.
 
Those held from congress side were Emmekere Salam, Hassainar, Sharif, Jeevan, Prasad, Nazeer, Louis D’Souza Suresh, Ashok D’Souza, Ozwald D’Souza, Roshan D’Souza. 2 Tata Sumo, 1 santro car and Rs 54,000 cash has been seized from them.
 
Sadananda Malli is a Zilla panchayat candidate from BJP contesting here and Prakash Chandra Shetty is a congress candidate.

    We all know that Police are puppets of BJP govt. under the present rule. Do they have enough guts to raid Yeddiyurappa's warehouses where illegal cash is stashed ? Only poor people are caught to show that they are active. If they try to locate the BJP source of funds they will be directly lead to CM himself. or Mr Acharya, Mr Palemar or the Reddy brothers.

    Venu,Mangalore/Pune by the by good question it is ! Please read the comments once more and ask me the question.I repeat BJP's 'VOTE FOR NOTE' challenge certainly requires money to contest against BJP candidate in the election in a large scale is a new trend in Karnataka.
