Bengaluru, Feb 19: Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee (KPCC) president D K Shivakumar has said that KPCC has decided to instill further vigour to the ongoing unbroken demonstration undertaken by the Congress MLAs in the house seeking to drop minister K S Eshwarappa from the ministry. Towards this end, and also to block efforts being made to deny the country's constitutional provisions, the party has decided to protest all over the state.
"Accordingly, on February 21, all the Congress party leaders, office bearers, workers and followers will come together in the district headquarters of the state, centres of the respective assembly constituencies and the taluk headquarters. They will wave the Tricolor and hold protests to ensure that the dignity and eminence of the tricolor are upheld," he announced.
While issuing these instructions, he asked all the district and block Congress presidents and office-bearers to organize protest programmes without fail.
"We have to ensure that maximum number of people will participate in the protest programmes. After the protests in the centres of assembly constituencies and taluk centres, petitions have to be submitted to tahsildars and in the case of district headquarters, they should be submitted to the deputy commissioners," he explained.
KPCC coordinators deployed to each of the assembly constituencies should be present at these protest programmes and make sure that the protest programmes are held in every taluk and assembly constituency, Shivakumar instructed in his letter.
