Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 19: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, February 19, reported 33 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 21 cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,272 out of which 361 are currently active.
As many as 87 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,838.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,45,580 as fine in 95,609 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
A total of 21 new cases were reported on Saturday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 231. A total of 69 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.
Udupi taluk reported 13 cases, Kundapura 1 and 5 cases in Karkala.
A total of 10,48,837 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,23,735 have received both doses and 42,867 people have received booster dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
