App-based taxi services launched at Mangaluru International Airport

Mangaluru, Feb 23: For the convenience of the passengers, app-based taxi service is being encouraged at the airport here. The international airport authorities here said that Ola and Uber taxi services have shown interest in running this service. They have been allotted separate parking slots.

The other pre-paid taxi services that are already functioning at the airport will continue. For them too, a parking area has been allocated at the airport.

A release by the airport said that the passengers can book the taxis at the prepaid booth.

    Ever since this airport was assigned to Adani group, such progressive actions have taken place. This is welcome for all passengers convenience. If the name of this airport was something like ".... Gandhi airport", some one by the name of "..... Vadra" would become a billionaire. Vikaas mumkin hain...agar.....

    Local taxi mafia running in Mangalore Airport need to be stopped. We need a strong police personnel in Mangalore to tackle the taxi mafia. Need KSRTC bus services from every corner of DK to Mangalore Airport. Why cann't we implement the public transport facility? Who is stopping us?

    This was launched couple of years back , but there was a huge protest by the local taxi drivers. The Airport authorities had to give in.

    It is a good initiative, but we need Ola and Uber services. Meanwhile, the authorities at Mangalore airport need to come up with an in-and-out system for private cars instead of hopless U-turns.
