M'lore: Emergency, Day Care Centre, OT Complex Inaugurated at Unity Hospital

Mangalore, Jan 7: The emergency and day care centre and operation theatre complex were inaugurated at the Unity Health Complex, here on Friday, January 7.

Alok Mohan IPS and IGP, Western range inaugurated the emergency and day care centre. Professor Dr M Abdul Rahiman, former vice chancellor, Kannur and Calicut Universities inaugurated the operation theatre complex.



 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 
 

Dr C P Habeeb Rahman, chairman of Unity Care and Health Service Ltd presided over the function. Ajmal Habeeb, managing director and Ashfaq Habeeb Executive director were present among others.

 Emergency and day care unit centre:

 The emergency and day care centre has been designed with the purpose to give emergency care at the door step of the hospital as the patient arrives. It has a triage unit, resuscitation unit and a day care area.

 The unit is attached with X Ray, Emergency OT, Procedure room and Endoscopy unit making it a comprehensive unit to give acute care. It also has other resuscitation facilities including defibrillator with the experienced doctors working round the clock.

The emergency department has a mobile ICU, with the toll free five digit number that is 105-707 which is one of its kinds in the region. This facility is called unity life care services.

 The centre is supported by a modern 25 bedded, level 1 ICU with a full time emergency and critical care specialist.

 Description of the Operation Theatre

There are five ultra model, operation suits with eight- bedded pre and post operative areas. The operation theatres are the unique and first of its kind in India with Trespa Vertuon panels that has anti-bacterial properties incorporated without use of Antimicrobial additives.

The operation theatres are also equipped with laminar airflows and high end anesthesia work stations with all monitoring facilities. It also has a multi para- invasive monitoring including high end anesthesia gas monitors. This is to provide maximum safety for the patients during the surgery and anesthesia. There is a dedicated cardio-thoracic operation theatre, Orthopedic operation theatre (specialized for joint replacements), Neuro OT, ENT and Ophthalmic OT and two general surgical OT’s.

OT is equipped with C Arm, Harmonic Scalpel, Arthroscopy and Laproscopy. The hospital has an ultra model CSSD unit which is fully automated and uipped with Automatic Washer Disinfector, Ultrasonic Cleaner, Flusher Disinfector and fully automatic steam sterilizer imported from USA. The automatic unit will help in minimizing infection and providing a safe outcome leaving nothing to chance as per international standards.

    well done unity hospital brilliant facility are there emergency ambulances and trained crew to manage the patient on route as well could u pass on the emergency telephone number please,I am really impressed to hear the services. Hope u keep up the services by giving adequate training to nurses as well. thanks
