Mangaluru/Udupi, Feb 26: Dakshina Kannada on Saturday, February 26, reported 7 new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered 4 cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,383 out of which 137 are currently active.
As many as 17 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,845.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,66,680 as fine in 95,820 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
A total of 4 new cases were reported on Saturday. The total active Covid cases are 104. A total of 26 patients were discharged from hospitals on Saturday.
Udupi taluk reported 3 cases and Kundapura 1.
A total of 10,50,782 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,38,980 have received both doses and 42,907 people have received booster dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
