Bangalore, Jan 9: Corruption and scam-tainted Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa has lost the moral right to continue in power and will not be allowed to carry on with the ongoing Karnataka Legislature session if he does not resign, declared state JD(S) chief and former chief minister H D Kumaraswamy.

Addressing reporters in Ramanagaram, the JD(S) leader said his party will join hands with the Congress party in its campaign for the ouster of the scam-tainted Yeddyurappa and asserted that the two parties would stall proceedings in both houses of state legislature when they reassemble after the weekend recess on Monday.

Pointing out that the BJP has stalled proceedings in parliament for over a month targtetting Prime Minister Manmohan Singh despite his clean image and reputation for integrity, honesty and probity in public life over the 2G Spectrum scam even after DMK’s A Raja had resigned as the Communications minister and the Supreme Court was seized of the matter, Kumaraswamy said the saffron party cannot have double standards in respect of the series of land scams and charges of nepotism, favouritism and  irregularities against Yeddyurappa with documentary evidence.

The BJP high command, which directed the Chief Minister to step down following the charges, had shamelessly allowed him to continue, Kumaraswamy said pointing out that Yeddyurappa had proved himself to be the most corrupt chief minister in Karnataka.

The JD(S) leader said the Opposition parties would joint hands and would not allow the Government to hold the Legislature session peacefully till the Chief Minister submitted his resignation.

Blaming the Chief Minister for continuation of illegal mining in Bellary by the Reddy brothers, the JD(S) leader said the BJP Government would fall in another month and mid-term assembly election in the state was inevitable.

The Opposition’s allegations against the government were justified following the Central Empowered Committee appointed by the Supreme Court has recommended cancellation of mining lease to firms owned by the all powerful Bellary mining lords -- Ministers G Janardhan Reddy and G Karunakar Reddy – the Obulapuram Mining Company to break various environmental laws in mining operations, he said.

The Chief Minister has neglected the findings of the CEC report and has been ruling the State according to his whims and fancies, he alleged and demanded his resignation for supporting illegal mining by the his Cabinet colleagues.

Replying to a question on whether the party would admit former MLA C P Yogeshwar of the BJP, Kumaraswamy said the people of the Ramangaram district had voted the JD(S) in the just concluded TP and ZP elections, which was their indirect approval for inducting him into the party.

''It is the responsibility of the party to respect such sentiments of the people of the district,’’ he said explaining that Yogeshwar had proved his opposition to the anti-people and corrupt actions of Yeddyurappa.

The former Chief Minister visited a house at Ammalli Doddi in Channapatna taluk in the district where four members of a farming family committed suicide and last month and handed over a compensation of Rs 50,000 to the kin and kith of the deceased family.

I have never thought of BJP coming to that low on the issue of corruption! Custodian of nationalism now raping the democracy @ daylight! What a contradiction! While not in the power, boasted as party with difference and in practice it is clear to voters of India and Karnataka in particular that it is different party with so many interest of it's own.Even surprise that BJP's central leadership's mum on the issue is deplorable.

This is not only the matter of corruption from state BJP.Yeddy has no hold on Government as there are 2 groups in BJP. He has to seccumb to Reddys everytime as he has no courage to face them as he will lose power.Initially he was against Reddys but now he has become part and parcel of Reddys to retain power. This is extremely dangerous to state and country. A CM dancing to the tune of other ministers is really rediculous and shame.
BJP thinks Karnataka belongs to their forefathers and thats why they do everything to retain in power here. There are several several incidents where government should have gone by now but everytime the roadstreets methods were used to retain in power. This government has lost moral right to continue and must resign. They are fully capable of buying anybody at any time to grab power .When There are talks set to JD(S) and Cong leaders i see some Cong Mla is opposing talks. No fool in this state will oppose this as this is the only way to out BJP.Who is prompting this MLA to oppose and why? Answer is well known by all of us. I do not think Karnataka Congress Ministers too at centre done much to combine JD(S)AND CONG alliance. In state all anti BJP people want alliance and both parties must expedite the talks. Regarding disrupting the assembly in normal case its not correct. But BJP at centre is doing the same and hence BJP hence lost moral right to question think. All the best HDK .
