Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 1:Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, March 1, reported one new coronavirus case while Udupi registered 2 cases.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,407 out of which 92 are currently active.

As many as 27 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,847.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,73,780 as fine in 95,891 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 2 new cases were reported on Tuesday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 80. A total of 5 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.

Udupi taluk reported 1 cases, Kundapura 1 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,50,831 people have received first dose of vaccination and 941031 have received both doses and 43,127 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
