Yeddy Should Honour his Assurances, says Christian Community

Bangalore, Jan 11 (PTI): Alleging a fresh case of attack on a pastor, the Global Council of Indian Christians today appealed to Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa to honour his promise of protecting the interests of minorities and ensuring their safety.

Pastor Isaac Samuel was recently attacked in Davanagere by a right wing outfit, despite the fact he faced no charges of indulging in conversions, President of the council Sajan George alleged at a press conference here.

George claimed that police registered a case in this connection, but later arrested the pastor for "no fault".

"There is fear among the Christian community. We do not feel safe in the state," Benedict Balu, president of 'Karnataka Christiranga', said.

    Hi guys. Very good coments. But this type of coments will make BJP very strong. Becuase most of the people staying out side Karnataka and that will be useless. Better go back to Karnataka and do something to bring down BJP. I went to my state for ZP & TP Eelction just to vote against Congress.

You have a made picture that Catholics are not Christians, then what are you ?     This type of small incidents are happening in every state and country. But, tell me how many convictions are made against the attackers from the Muslim community who have committed large scale atrocities, by the Congress governments. If this is done there will not be any space in the jails.

    Comming to your assertion that BJP and its supporters are evil, to all people, I can say evil does not exist, it is the absence of goodness.

    Christians are full of goodness. If only the christians can create goodness in BJP and their supporters, evil will disappear, and I am positive in the near future Christians will have cordial relations with BJP and their supporters and they will not see Christians as evil and vice versa.

    I read all comments of yours. Basically we must undesrtand that it is because our(Cristian's) fault, the BJP is winning in every eletions now a days, atleast in Udupi and Mangalore. How many people, who commented below have voted in recent ZP and taluk elections. No wonder most of us are out of our native place and donot vote and this made election commision to remove our names from voters list!!! How many of us went to taluk office to ask why your name is not there in the voters list inspite of having a voter Id card?
    Same thing happened to me and i had to fight with Thasildar to inclde my name in Voters list and i voted against BJP.

    So dont blame BJP. Wake up and make yourself aware of the game BJP is playing in Udupi and Managlore, instructing the election official to remove the names of the who are out of Udupi/Managlore. There by increasing their chance of winning.

    There was no conviction against attackers of minorities by extrimist safforn brigades so far in Karanataka after BJP's rule.Yeddy rules Karnataka as per directions from Keshava Kunj!Then how could he commit to his assurances?????

    Catholics of Karnataka are progressive (our education institutions prove it) and of peaceful nature (our young men still tangled in legal matters exhibits it). A Catholic priest is not called a Pastor. Hence, let the community involved defend themselves - there is no smoke without fire. Let us not repeat the mistake we did by unitedly fighting for the misdeeds of New Life community. Let the political leader do his duty - we have handed over the baton to him by voting for the party.

    Do you know why it is happend? It is just unstabilise the government by the oppossion, and there are some outfit from the government is involved, but these elements are from some certain community, just for the sake of name and fun,they poured little quantity of petrol to the fire. That is all. What we have to do, we have to take care ourself and now adays there are recording divices, we have to try to record all these things and burought in to the knowledge of the public.

    It's no use. Yeddy has spent last 2.5 years saving his chaddi from reddy and others, and will try to spend save his chaddi for the next 2.5 years. Don't see any use against any appeals. He does not have any administrative knowledge

    Yeddy is not a magician to cure all the ills of the society. The police will not arrest a pastor for no reason, though a right wing outfit might have attacked the pastor, without any reason.

    No specific information as to the details of this case is given in the above, except blaming the CM.

    I dont accept the statement of Benedict Balu that there is fear among the chrisian community and that christians do not feel safe in the state.

    I am not a fan of BJP, but being from Karnataka, and knowing the state of affairs in the state, I do feel that Yeddy is doing his best to take care of the minorities, in spite of the opposition to his rule from different sides, mainly the shameless congress.

    won't care if the Christians are
    attacked. The Pastor was arrested,
    that is the new Karnataka law
    of religious protection.
