Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 3:Dakshina Kannada on Thursday, March 3, reported six new coronavirus case while Udupi registered 6 cases.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,415 out of which 58 are currently active.

As many as 26 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,847.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,76,080 as fine in 95,914 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 6 new cases were reported on Thursday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 76. A total of 10 patients were discharged from hospitals on Thursday.

Udupi taluk reported 4 cases, Kundapura 2 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,51,040 people have received first dose of vaccination and 947797 have received both doses and 43,774 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
