Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 4: Dakshina Kannada on Friday, March 4, reported two new coronavirus case while Udupi registered 5 cases.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,417 out of which 38 are currently active.

As many as 22 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,847.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,77,080 as fine in 95,932 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 5 new cases were reported on Friday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 67. A total of 13 patients were discharged from hospitals on Friday.

Udupi taluk reported 4 cases, Kundapura 1 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,51,140 people have received first dose of vaccination and 951347 have received both doses and 44,262 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
