Mangalore, Jan 13: The wedding of 15 couples belonging to under-privileged families was solemnized as per Muslim traditions at a mass marriage ceremony organized by Beary's Welfare Forum (BWF), Abu Dhabi at Milagres Hall here on Thursday January 13.

Al-Haz P M Ibrahim Musliyar Bekal inaugurated the ceremony. Speaking on the occasion he said that marital life is inevitable to lead peaceful life till the end. "By organizing the mass marriage function, we would like to set an example for the rest of our community", he declared staunchly. "The girls who were married off today were from extremely poor families," he pointed out.

Former Union Minister C M Ibrahim, the chief guest, who is known to enthrall public gatherings with his humorous speeches, spoke on the occasion. He said Beary community people of Dakshina Kannada and Udupi are peace lovers and those who attended the mass marriage function have come full heartedly to show their love for poor people, he said.

Mangalore Qazi Twaka Ahmed Musliyar delivered the key note address. Mohammed Ali Uchil presided. Mohammed Rafiq Krishnapura proposed the vote of thanks. B A Mohammed Ali compered the programme. MLA U T Khader, B A Moideen and Mangalore SP Subramanyeshwar Rao were present.

I attended the progrmme as our neighbour was a bride their, and really touched by the arrangements.
B.A.Mohammed Ali's professional compare to C.M.Ibrahim's speech was super. All the couples treated by BWF as their own sisters and brothers.Marriage has given us the impression that of our own relatives ,and the Organizers taken extra care of everything.
I congratulate the Organizers, and wish the Couples a best married life.
Eventhough I was present at the function, but enjoyed and felt the progrmme through the beautiful coverage of Daiji.

A big thanks to Daiji for its nice coverage.

Thanks to Daiji for taking us back home to Mangalore.I am very glad that it has given a full length and wedth coverage to the community cause.Daiji always stood for the charity it believe in,with out considering the caste, creed, race or religion of the benificiary. We are fortunate to have Daiji to watch and feel the BWF-Mass marriage progrmme.I my self feel that it wouldn't have been posible to BWF to conduct the progrmme with out Daiji. The reason that- the Daijis publicity given, encourages people to support the cause.
My best wishes with Couples ,who got married and a Big appreciation to Baerys Welfare Forum.

@aboobaker uppala, uppala/Holy Makkah, The prescribed dowry system in the Quran is biting all the Muslims. In Saudi Arabia 40 percent of the marriageable age are not married due to demanding of dowry. What these people above 40 years of age are doing for self satisfaction. Missyar marriages (temporary marriage) are nothing but adultery is also one of the reasons of enjoyment. Saudi Lawyers warn of alarming divorce rate in Saudi Arabia

The above news item says, The wedding of 15 couples belonging to under-privileged families was solemnized as per Muslim traditions. It would have been informative if some of the Muslim traditions would have been mentioned, apart from normal signing of the contracts, opening ceremony, speaches by the high officials and so on.

According to my understanding in Muslim marriages
"It is recommended that when the bridegroom meets his bride for the first time after the wedding ceremony, he should place his hand on her forehead and say: “In the name of God. May God bless each of us for his and her partner.” The bridegroom should then say: “My Lord, grant me the best in her and the best that you placed in her nature. I appeal to You to protect me against her worst and the worst that you placed in her nature.” She should say the same prayer.

    Is my understanding correct.?
