Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 6:Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, March 6, reported five new coronavirus case while Udupi registered 2 cases.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,427 out of which 27 are currently active.

As many as 12 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,847.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,81,480 as fine in 95,968 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

A total of 2 new cases were reported on Sunday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 48. A total of 6 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.

Udupi taluk reported 1 cases, Kundapura 1 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,51,225 people have received first dose of vaccination and 953645 have received both doses and 44,472 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
