Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 8: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, March 8, reported three new coronavirus cases while Udupi registered two cases.
The total number of positive cases in the district has risen to 1,35,434 out of which 25 are currently active.
As many as 3 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,847.
The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.
So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,83,880 as fine in 95,992 incidents of mask violation.
Udupi
A total of two new cases were reported on Tuesday. The total active Covid cases are 40. A total of 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.
Udupi taluk reported 1 case and Kundapur added 1.
A total of 10,51,339 people have received first dose of vaccination and 9,56,992 have received both doses and 45,178 people have received booster dose.
A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
