Mangaluru, Mar 11: City mayor Premananda Shetty scrutinized the issue relating to problems found in raising water bills due to which the people living in the city have been encountering various problems. Taking into consideration these things, he said that the fine on the bills will be entirely waived. He passed instructions to the officials to take suitable steps on these lines and pass an order accordingly.
Premananda Shetty presided over a meeting which he held in the auditorium of the city corporation on Thursday March 10. He noted that several deficiencies have been detected in the software that has been prepared to generate water bills. "Several mistakes are found in the bills issued to the people. To find a lasting solution to the problem, there is a need to create suitable software," he noted. He asked the officials to contact Diya Systems which prepared the software earlier to create new software or to undertake improvements in the old software.
Corporation commissioner Akshy Sridhar, deputy commissioners Ravikumar and Ganeshan R, executive engineer Suresh and officials and staff of the engineering department of the corporation were present.
