Udupi, Mar 12: In a quick action, the city municipality council (CMC), after the much uproar from the general public, cleared the piled up mud and debris on Gundibail road.
The Varahi drinking water pipeline work also has been restarted. Engineers visited the spot on Friday March 11 and have instructed to quicken the pace of the work.
Residents of Gundibail had expressed their displeasure through social media and other means. CMC member of the ward, Geetha Shet, immediately plunged into action and took the initiative to clear the mud and debris.
Even though the mud is cleared, the road is still unfit for vehicular movement as the work is still pending. Water is being sprinkled twice a day to reduce the spreading of dust. Residents of Gundibail are hoping that the work is completed sooner.
Daijiworld.com had reported about the issue earlier on March 11.
