Nice to hear about the Diamond Jubilee Celebrations.
Please permit the Airlines from Middle East to fly Mangalore. When International Airlines are allowed to fly Cochin,Trivandrum, Kozhikode, Goa, Ahmedabad etc why not Mangalore, when Mangalore has such all the infra structure that is needed.

I have been to Mangalore recently for Christmas n New Year. New terminal is nice I am happy with it, though we can’t compare it with Western types. For Mangalore it’s very good. In 15 minutes I was out, no harassment of any kind from customs officials. Services are good. I am really proud.

Is one of the scheme planned to develop the airport is to further increase the airport fees being collected from passengers!!!!When we can see Intl Airport? after 100 years? Was it necessary to spend on these celebrations when lot of issues still to be addressed? Does so called concrete airport road from Mangalore actually end in Airport? Someone still asking for phone booths. When AIE monopolly ends? .......

Walter is right. During emergency cases it definitely creates difficulty for emergency vehicle drivers to maneuver on the bend areas. Need to work out on that..

The people who suggested the location for the new terminal need to facilitate during the celebrations. Due to their lack farsightedness all the passengers risk losing their lives while exiting the airport, even they safely reach Mangalore. There should be a proper enquiry why this location was ed when the current entrance from Bajpe was too convenient. Definitely some lobby acted behind the scene to get the construction contact and made the money during the process putting passengers lives on risk.

First of all I would like to say all the best for Diamond Jubilee mega event organising by KCCI. But there is some major developments has to be done in Mangalore Airport. In Kerala, there are 3 already major International Airports exist. But one more Kannur Internatioinal Airport will be opening soon with all ultra modern facilities. In our State we have only one International Airport. Why like this? Where Kerala, where Karnataka? Anyway, now the right time to take action these problems. Thank you Daijiworld.

Diamond Jubilee Celebrations of Mangalore Airport must be a great event for all of us. the Airport architecture is a good one but more importance is to be given for cleanliness and maintenance of the airport. All the white structures are covered with mildew ever since the beginning and requires chemical cleaning or mildew resistant paint.
Cobwebs between glass and structures at varies placed must be removed. This would make us proud that our Airport is one amongst the cleanest air ports of India

Congratulations to MANGALORE AIRPORT.The new style, arrangements is very attractive. There are lots of changes required as per Interntional Standard. Concerned Authoritis should look into the matter seriously and make All Indians Love Mangalore Airport. There should not any monopoly for Air India Express instead give opportunity to other International Airlines to Serve ALL. Anyway Best of Luck

Oh, great news. Who will pay the expenses of Diamond jubilee? Passengers? Like now we (passengers) are forced to pay towards the cost of new air-port. Instead of spending for unwanted function like jubilee within a year of great tragidy, utlize the fund for the improvement of infrastructure like in & out road repair work.

Recently, I flew to Mangalore with great enthusiasm to travel through my native place airport. I am impressed that IXE airport became what it is today. To my surprise, I found too many things dangerously wrong and built with total disregard to safety of travelers. I am thrilled that Praful Patel, union minister for civil aviation, Dr. M Veerappa Moily, union minister for law and justice, and B S Yeddyurappa, chief minister and MPs, MLCs and MLAs of this region have been invited to grace the occasion of diamond jubilee celebration. These dignitaries should witness the adverse and unsafe travel condition to and from the airport. Mangalore Airport is NOT even classified as Mangalore International Airport. The only international flights land are those of Air-India Express, with exclusive rights to land at IXE. Could all these top notch dignitaries think that there is something fundamentally wrong in access road to and from the airport and this table top runway requires extension avoid future risks to the flights? May be Mr. Praful Patel should drive down the airport exit road to witness himself the pathetic condition of the exit road. May be all of the top dignitaries collectively think specific improvements are required to improve the access to the airport.

This is right time to celeberate the Diamond jublee of Mangaluru Air port just to over come last year tragedy. Authorities should focus on upgrading the out going road from the new airport terminal. All the best.
