Mangalore: South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers’ Assn to Hold Physio Week 2011

Mangalore, Jan 19: South Kanara Physiotherapy Teachers’ Association will hold ‘Physio Week 2011’ and ‘7th All India Physiotherapy students Conference’ from January 21 to 26, informed Dr U T Ifthikar Ali in a press meet here on Thursday, January 19.

Many events will be organized for the physio week, keeping in mind to serve the needy and poor. The physio week will be inaugurated by fruit distribution day. Rajani Duganna, mayor, MCC will be the chief guest and Dr Hansraj Alva will be the guest of honour for the event which will take place at Govt Wenlock Hospital on January 21.

Dr Subramaneshwara Rao, superintendent of Police, DK will inaugurate the blood donation camp, the next event organized by the physio week.  The third event will be physio treasure hunt and a physiotherapy camp. MLA Krishna J Palemar, district incharge minister of Dakshina Kannada will inaugurate the event at Vikas Collage of Physiotherapy.

Other events are pre-conference A, which will be held on three different venues concurrently, pre-conference B held at NITTE College of Physiotherapy, Deralakatte, pre-conference C held at Shree Devi College of Physiotherapy and conference on the all India Physiotherapy at Shri T V Raman Pai Convention Centre on January 25. The post conference A an B will be the final events. 

Dr M V Shetty College of Physiotherapy, Mangalore will be the convenor of the programme. Chairperson Dr Susan Varghese, secretary Dr Padmakumar and patron Trustees of S K (P T) College will be present on the occasion.

Over 150 students from all over the state are expected to attend the events.
