Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 15:Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, March 15, reported 3 new coronavirus case while Udupi registered one case.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,584 out of which 22 are currently active.

As many as 2 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,849.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,15,98,380 as fine in 96,137 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One positive case was reported on Tuesday. The total active Covid cases have risen to 3. No patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday.

Udupi taluk reported 0 cases, Kundapura 0 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,51,779 people have received first dose of vaccination and 982737 have received both doses and 47,481 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
