Karnataka to contribute $1.5 trillion to India's economy by 2025: CM Bommai

Bengaluru, Mar 16 (IANS): Karnataka will become the "top state" in the country in terms of overall economic growth, Chief Minister Basavaraj Bommai said, adding that the state will play a major role in achieving Prime Minister Narendra Modi's dream of making India a $5 trillion economy.

Addressing the "Vision of Karnataka 2025" conclave organised by Federation of Karnataka Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FKCCI) here on Tuesday, Bommai said, "By 2025 the economy would have attained pace and buoyancy. I am confident of Karnataka making a significant contribution of $1.5 trillion to realise Prime Minister Modi's dream of making India a $5 trillion economy."

"The GDP growth would be doubled and with financial discipline and planning there would be growth in the Agriculture, Industry and Services sectors," he added.

Bommai also highlighted the steps he initiated for giving "impetus" to the economic growth.

"The size of the state budget has been increased by Rs 19,000 crore. Even the experts had not expected this. It was predicted that the budget would be loaded with freebies as it is a pre-election budget. But we have come to the rescue of those who help the state. We have extended a helping hand to those who toil under the hot sun," asserted the Chief Minister.

"Infrastructure projects like roads, railways, airports and ports have received a big boost. Special Investment Regions would come up at Dharwad and Tumakuru. Food Parks would be set up in every district. The Chennai-Mumbai Corridor, Textile Parks at Gulbarga and Vijayapura would lay a strong foundation for sustained economic growth," Bommai said.

He further noted that apart from giving special emphasis to the development of Bengaluru, his government has finalised packages for laying Ring Roads in all cities, extending the metro rail network and suburban rail project.

The breakdown of rule of law under the current BJP regime will discourage investors from investing in the state. In UP another BJP fanatic claims the state will soon have a trillion dollar economy. Tens of millions of Indians have slipped into poverty under Modi. BJP's response to the the rise of impoverishment among Indians is to make fantastic claims of economic growth. My suggestion to BJP leaders is to let Bollywood handle tall tales.

That is USD 1,500,000,000,000 X 75 = INR 112,500,000,000,000 (approx..). Just let me know if anyone outside the finance ministry / Niti aayog / economic researchers can even grasp these numbers before committing to reach that target! Somehow, Ms. Sitharaman tossed the $5 Trillion magical figure from thin air, and now the trillion-virus seems to have started spreading among the CMs.

Surprisingly K'Nataka contributed to 5th highest collection of GST and IT after the 4 big states i.e Maharashtra, Uttar Pradesh, Tamil Nadu and Telengana. Post COVID 3rd wave, economy is indeed picking steam, and with Tourism and TRavel sector too opening up, K'Nataka, especially Bengaluru will see upward trajectory to contribute to Nation's quest of higher financial results!

The Gross State Domestic Product (GSDP) of Karnataka for 2021-22 (at current prices) is projected to be Rs 17,02,227 crore. THESE ARE OFFICIAL FIG's ---- One lakh crore is approx USD 13Billion ( or nearabouts ) -- So in USD terms we are @ maximum of 250 billion -- 21- 2022-- we need to grow six times in less than 4 years -- to reach USD 1,5 trillion -- At best doubling happens every 7 years upto 10 years -- inflation adjusted -- So if we reach USD 400 -- billion -- by 2025 -- it will be a great achievement -- PROVIDED NO ISSUES -- HIJAB -- ANTI CONVERSION -- POLARISING POLITICS -- Improving allround Infrastructure-- Control on Corruption - etc etc -- Land and revenue dept -- officials -- today work at slowest pace --++ max corruption --
