Mangalore, Jan 21: Music director and playback singer Vasanth Kunder presented the very entertaining five-language musical evening ‘Meri Awaaz’ at Town Hall here on Thursday January 20.


 

The musical gala contained foot tapping music, vibrant dances with variety of eye-catching costumes.
 
A Sadananda Shetty, chairman, Shree Devi Education Trust presided over the stage programme held before the commencement of orchestra. In his presidential address Shetty said that music is a God-given gift for Vasanth Kunder and added that his contribution to music is phenoemenal.
 
Former chairman of MUDA Suresh Ballal, theatre personality Machendranath Pandeshwar, Karavalli Sangeetha Kalavidara Okkoota president Muralidhar Kamath, Lions district governor Ln J K Rao, eminent singer Gurukiran among others graced the occasion. Khalid compered the programme.
 
The orchestra kick-started with the song Neele gagan ke tale from Hindi movie Humraaz which was succeeded with mixture of old and new songs in five languages - Kannada, Hindi, Tamil, Tulu and Konkani.
 
Due to eager requests made by the gathering Gurukiran ascended the stage and sung ‘Yaad aarahi hai tera pyar from the movie Disco Dancer (1983) which received a thundering applause from the gathering.
