Udupi, Mar 18: The BJP has accused members of a terrorist organization from Hyderabad of having visited Udupi and trained the girl students on the issue of creating the Hijab controversy.
BJP's OBC Morcha general secretary Yashpal Suvarna, made this allegation. He said that the people who came from Hyderabad taught the girls as to how and what they have to say in the presence of the media. Suvarna, who also happens to be the vice president of the Udupi government girls PU college monitoring committee here, said that the members of the terrorist organization who came from Hyderabad had pledged support to the girls who approached the high court.
The Karnataka bandh call given by Muslim organizations on Thursday in protest against the verdict of the high court had affected the coastal belt of Karnataka more than other regions. The bandh call was particularly effective in fish and vegetable markets, Bunder area, State Bank in Mangaluru and other places. Most of the traders in the fish and vegetable market are Muslims and they supported the call.
In the meantime, Muslim girl students studying in schools and colleges located in various parts of the state have boycotted classes and the examinations. They have been pressuring the concerned to allow them to attend classes with their Hijabs.
