Bangalore: Yeddyurappa to Challenge Governor Sanction in HC

Bangalore, Jan 22 (PTI): Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa is likely to file a petition before the High Court on January 24 challenging Governor H R Bhardwaj's sanction to prosecute him under the provisions of Prevention of Corruption Act.

"We are already working on a framework. We will go to court. The Chief Minister is likely to file a petition before the High Court on Monday", Minister for Law S Suresh Kumar told PTI here.

He said the Governor is yet to furnish a copy of his order giving sanction to prosecute Yeddyurappa, despite pleas.

"Let us see whether the Governor will give us a copy today", Kumar said.

Yesterday, Yeddyurappa had shot off a letter to Bhardwaj objecting to denial of the copy of the order.

Sources said when Chief Minister's Principal Secretary met the Governor, Bhardwaj told him that he would first give the order copy to complainants.

    What a shame! There should be a limit to the greed of clinging to power despite proven corruption. If he really thinks he is innocent he should let the justice do its job. No way a HC will override a Governor if he is within his rights. Politicians should not be immune.

    Yeddy is making karnataka people fool.Whole world knows about him and his sons.I am ashamed of the people of karnataka who still support him.
    It is bcoz of yeddy that the state is facing bandh today.It is the common man who has to suffer while this yeddy and co are busy making money and proving themselves innocent.It is bcoz of all this foolish and illeterate people that politicians like yeddy get full support and courage to do anything and play with the public. It is time for us to act against these hypocrates and oppose these kinds of bandhs

    The only solution that is available for CM is to start visiting temples in Karnataka first followed by other states to control the crisis currently he is facing. I hope, he will listen to us.

    What a shame, shameless Yeddy made us shamefull in front of whole country. All BJP high command guys are wearing sarees other than Sushma Swaraj who feels that BSY is spoiling BJP image. Its useless to go to court against the governer. Better he go for anticipatory bail now.

    Congress JDS=Governor trying to topple the democratically elected govt. by back door. Lokayukta already submitted report against Ex.CM Dharam Singh. This Congress backed Governor not taken any action till today.

    i wholeheartedly congratulate our governor who well n truely has become hero of karnataka..hats off sir..earlier the lokayukta had rapped this "SUPER-CORRUPT" bjp govt..but what amazes me is yeddy's depth of shamelessness!! & BJP's double stds..instead of resigning gracefully n facing the trial2 clear his much maligned name this fella resorting2 blackmail tactics..forcing people of karnataka2 pay4 his illegal activities.his "deshbakth" godfathers in RSS,dharma,sanskriti guardians the SWAMIES r strangely quiet..probably fearing loss of commission!

    Mr. Vincy, Shamboor/Bangkok, you forgot to mention that this top class lawyer of supreme court is the same person who has allowed Mr.Quatrochhi to leave the country and sent a CBI official to request UK govt. to defreeze Mr. Quatrochhi's account so that he can withdraw the frozen money. If you have not observed all actions of this Guv. in the recent past as unconstitutional, then I pity your quality of observation. I know people like you hate Mr. Yeddyurappa for a different reason?

    Mr. Governor did the very good job. If the bloody yeaddy stay in power he will distroy all the documents and show every citizens as he is clean.     Yeddy,dont forget, you are not dealing with only a Governor but a top class lawyer of Supreme Court of India.What ever he has done is over.It is better you prepare for the proceedings rather than going to sue the Governor.It has never happend in Indian History.
