Mangaluru, Mar 19: Bejai ward corporator Lancelot Pinto, along with the residents of Bejai ward inaugurated the newly-built concrete road at Sankaigudde here on Saturday March 19.
The road, which is 0.75 kilometre long, is built at a cost of Rs 35 lac.
Speaking on the occasion, corporator Shashidhar Hegde said, “Lancelot Pinto has a broad vision towards the development of Bejai ward. He has maintained close relationship with the people and this is the reason behind the huge crowd which is present for inauguration of this road. When it comes to water problems, Lancelot would take the problem on priority basis and solve it. He has always worked for the people of Bejai and for their welfare. He has another three years to finish his term. He will definitely utilize the coming three years for the overall development of Bejai.”
Corporator Lancelot Pinto said, “I am the representative of people and serving them by performing God’s work. Do not praise me for the work I have done, as the money used in the development is not from my pocket, but the taxpayers’ money. I only ask people’s blessing to undertake more work in Bejai for the welfare of the people.”
A local resident, Jagannath Gambhir said, “When we elect a corporator, people approach him for work. Here, Lancelot approaches people and fulfills their demands. He is always among people and listens to their problems. Lancelot responds to people within no time. He is a man who does his duties relentlessly. People gathered here for the inauguration programme is the perfect example which shows the popularity of Lancelot Pinto in Bejai.”
Residents of Bejai, Sudheer, Dr Madhav Rao and others also spoke on the occasion about the works done by Lancelot Pinto.
Congress corporator Lancelot Pinto has been elected by the people of Bejai for the seventh time in a row which is a record. Lancelot Pinto has gained confidence of people in Bejai in his seven terms. He is known for his kindness and is a people’s leader.
