Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 20:Dakshina Kannada on Sunday, March 20, reported 1 new coronavirus case while Udupi registered one case.

The total number of positive cases in Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,471 out of which 21 are currently active.

As many as 4 patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,849.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,03,580 as fine in 96,189 mincidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One positive cases was reported on Sunday. The total active Covid cases have risen to five. No patients were discharged from hospitals on Sunday.

Udupi taluk reported 1 cases, Kundapura 0 and 0 cases in Karkala.

A total of 10,60,421 people have received first dose of vaccination and 999080 have received both doses and 49,301 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
