Mangalore, Jan 22: Jago Yuva Bharat (JYB), a massive nationwide campaign organized by Indian Catholic Youth Movement (ICYM)  to commemorate the International Year of Youth (August 2010 to Aug2011) was inaugurated in the city on Saturday January 22.

The motor vehicle rally was launched at Kanyakumari on January 12 and it will conclude at Delhi on March 12.

In city the rally commenced from Tokkottu and proceeded via Mahaveer circle to Nantoor, St Agnes Bustop and finally reached near DC office, State bank. As many as 500 people took part in the rally. There were around 105 two-wheelers and 50 auto rickshaws.

Bishop Aloysius Paul D’Souza blessed the campaign. Speaking on the occasion he said the citizens of the nation should be always united. The youth play a major role in country’s development. They should be encouraged to involve in developmental projects and join politics which will of great benefit, he added.

Fr Anil D’Souza, director ICYM, Ivan D’Souza, advocate and Notary member, KPCC, MLA U T Khader, Krishna Bairegowda, Arun Coelho of Youth Congress, HM Ashraff of Congress Seva Dal, Basil D’Souza, Ullal Town municipal president, Praveen Alva and Mithun Rai among other eminent personalities  were present.

A stage programme will be held at the DC office as a part of the campaign. A street play will be held in the city on Sunday January 23.

The initiative taken by JYB aims to empower and support youth. It also tries to become an agent to change and reinstate the spirit of national integration and peace. It envisages an idea to help youth arise with the vision and awake them to take up responsibilities of the present concerns such as environmental degradation, climate change, peace and harmony.

JYB stresses on the need for dialogue and mutual understanding for peace and harmony. It will almost reach out to all the states of India in course of time, as it progresses. It aims to reach out to ten crore of people through full day youth fest, exhibition on the theme, competitions, street play, public function, rallies, panel discussion, media and publicity.

Youth should focus on emerging challenging trends, there is a need of strong training in the teen age. Which brings patience and focus. When there is a focus they become very vigilant towards they are goal. should stop motor rally, as there is a large demand for petrol, there should be revaluation within self. A voice called from being, inner voice should Cray for change and life should be filled with values. Instead big talks on the roads. Religious Leaders should drive people to values, there is lots of charity required up bring the society , we still concentrate on building instead on people who are working for it.

Dear Nagesh Nayak, Advani no.1 hypocrite in BJP, has no guts to ask Yeddy’s resignation. He wants to hoist Flag in Kashmir, why can’t he go and do the same in POK ? (Pakistan occupied Kashmir) Kashmir is integral part of India. When he visited Pakistan he praised Jinnah to please Pakistanis. All his agenda’s are politically motivated and he doesn’t have any love for our country like you. Swamy sadanada had visited leprosy camp and found no converts over there. Whoever has killed the swamy must get rigorous punishment they should be hanged till death.

I am just surprised by the comments of deferent people. After reading all the comments I just want to pose a question to you all(pessimists) Why don't you feel happy when someone wants to help our country for a better future?
Why didn't you join them yourself?
Just look at the flag "that's Indian Flag Friends".
Why do you connect with Religion and Politics?
Grow up Friends Think Like an Indian not with a religious or political view.
At list make a Better India for Our future Generation, for your sons and daughters.
Don't let our Youth grow in that same Filth and die in that same filth.

    Mr. Richard - Shirva/Sharjah,
Being in an autocratic Arab country where you have no voice to raise and live like a second class citizen it is not surprising that you find democratic system is a tragedy. Please note that when an elected government fails to deliver what it promised it has to be disturbed and awakened. That is not a publicity stunt. As per the above Daijiworld report people from all religion/communities took part in the compaign. It is not one particular community. And do you have any proof that 'western missionary' funded the campaign?

The current price rise in India, for your information is due to(1)failure of various crops because of unseasonal heavy rains and (2)trading community taking full advantage of the situation by hoarding and blackmarketing.By the way what is your contribution from Sharjah to control the price rise in your native place Shirva?

While agreeing with your comments with regards to Hello Kids, I am totally shocked about a staunch Hindu's views on  Dara Singh Vs Stanes and two childrens Killing.

For arguments sake, let us assume, that Stanes is indeed guilty of forcefull conversion by BY MONEY & DEGRADING OTHER RELIGION IN ORISSA due to which SOCIAL HARMONY WAS DISTURBED.

Now Mr. Nagesh just give me one answer Yes or No if you have the courage and knowledge to do it. Does your Relgion or your holy books, direct the followers to Kill anyone in the shoes of Stanes along with two innocent children.?????

Thank you, in advance, since you will not be able to answer this question to the point.

I agree with you totally. That is what christianity to me means. Helping any one in need, without making a big publicity of it.

Yes, not only Fr. Mullers, many catholic institutions have been doing great job in helping the less fortunate without publicity.

But these types of campaigns destroy the good name built by catholics of the past.

To me this publicity campaign is politically motivated.

King Solomon with all his wisdom
warned the youths " Be happy, young
man, while you are young, and let your heart give you joy in the days of your youth. Follow the ways of your heart and whatever you eyes
see but know that for all these
things God will bring you to judgment. Ecclesiates 11:9.

"The sins of youth are paid for in old age. Latin Proverb".

    Hitler and Stalin very stronly
believed " those whoever have the
youths of the nation, have the
    whole nation". In that direction,
    both Hitler and Stalin created
    youth movements through total
    deception and used them like
    scapegoats.

If we want to have a strong nation
with values and peace, we will have to work very hard to groom
the youth in the proper direction,
else it will be too late and
the situation will be hopless and
out of reach. Glad to read about
    Catholic Youth Movement. May God
    bless the great Movement.

As mentioned by KGShenoy After seeing all the pictures,I strongly feel that the campaign title "Jago yuva Bharath" does not sound right or appropriate.

The title should have been Jago Catholic Yuva Bharat.

Every body in Mangalore knows the fate of those Yuva Catholics who volunteered to defend the churches and church properties. First clear those cases and get them free, before you start your silly and meaningless campaigns.

In my opinion, stop involving the name of religion in these types of campaigns.

I believe nothing is smelling. It should have started long back. Initiative taker's were lacking. Now society is educated, awake, and watches the rights and wrongs. ofcourse in the photograhs some elder people are seen and youth are less. To guide the present youth elder's proper guidelines are required. If so flock will go in the right direction. It is not my point of veiw to cricizing any one. To start with any organisation or movements experienced people are required. we have seen in the past, many groups had came up ,done some good works in the village, and even they got appreciation letter from Govt. But after some time that thirst in that work dried out and members were isolated. And their good work is still remained as a memory. I have seen in the photographs some elderly educated people are behind this movement I hope this group can come up as a nation wide compaign.Let us wish the JOGO YOVA BHARATH.

When I was sick and many of our hindu friends and their family members were sick we got very good care in Fr. Mullers hospital that too 50% to pay for medicine. All other facilities free. They are doing the job without asking your relgion, colour or your possition. Today most of the temple leaders are not like them. You may be rich but poor people are taken care by these God fearing people and they are asking the youth to develop the country, have peace, to be good and they are not asking to join the political party.

Bobby Malhotra, the campaign is named as 'Jago Yuva Bharat' - a call for the youth to wake up. It doesn't mean that the campaign is formed by youth. Regading your question about Priest's role, in a democracy when Swamis can sit on street to support a govt (everyone knows what type of govt it is), why can't a priest take lead in calling the youth for peaceful existence ? Malhotra sahab, Jaago mere bhai. Simply seeing a Priest don't raise questions but first evaluate the purpose of this campaign.
