Apex Court Issues Notice to Centre on Radia-2G Scam

New Delhi, Jan 24 (IANS) The Supreme Court Monday issued notice to the central government on a petition related to lobbyist Nira Radia and the 2G spectrum allocation scam.

The apex court bench of Justices G.S. Singhvi and S.S. Nijjar also issued notice to the union home secretary on the petition filed by the Centre for Public Interest Litigation (CPIL). The CPIL pleaded for the issuance of the notification for the protection of the whistleblower who brought the Radia case into public domain.

Though there is provision for the protection of the whistleblower, it is limited only to the cases where the person has complained to the Central Vigilance Commission.
