Mangaluru/Udupi, Mar 22: Dakshina Kannada on Tuesday, March 22, reported one new coronavirus case while Udupi also registered one.

The total number of positive cases in the Dakshina Kannada district has risen to 1,35,473 out of which 18 are currently active.

As many as 2 patients were discharged from hospitals on Tuesday. The death toll in the district so far stands at 1,849.

The district administration has urged people to strictly continue maintaining social distance in public places and wear masks when stepping out of the house. Anyone not wearing a mask would be fined by the authority.

So far, the district administration has collected Rs 1,16,03,980 as fine in 96,193 incidents of mask violation.

Udupi

One corona cases was reported on March 22, the total active Covid cases are 6.

A total of 10,65, 205 people have received first dose of vaccination and 10,03,217 have received both doses and 50,392 people have received booster dose.

A total of 53 cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) have been reported in the district so far.
