Bengaluru, Mar 23: Many a times, the people we respect for their decency and honesty might turn out to be outright thieves. Similarly, in a case of vehicle thefts reported in the city, a minor has been found to be a culprit.
Incidents of vehicles parked in front of houses getting stolen and converted into spare parts are often heard from the city. Changing of number plates and creating fake records to sell the vehicles have also been not uncommon.
The police have now taken into custody a minor on the allegation of stealing six auto rickshaws. The stolen auto rickshaws worth Rs 15 lac have been confiscated from the boy's possession. It is said that he used to steal three-wheelers from Kengeri, Kamakshipalya, Cottonpet, Chandra Layout, Kumbalagodu and Sheshadripuram. The Kengeri police could confiscate these vehicles and six cases of missing auto rickshaws reported from various parts of the city have been solved with this.
The police personnel are questioning him in detail to get clues of any gang with which he might be involved with, and whether a gang of minors is operating here.
