Mangalore: Opposition to Karnataka Bandh - Bajrang Dal Activists Vandalize Bakery

Mangalore, Jan 25: Angered by the fact that one of their leaders had been assaulted, activists of Bajrang Dal vandalized a bakery located in a building belonging to a person whom they were targetting, on the night of Monday January 24. The incident occurred at Asaigoly near Ullal.






























Reportedly, a verbal friction had arisen between assistant convener of Ullal zone Bajrang Dal, Ravi, and a local Congress leader named Santosh, and others, relating to the Karnataka Bandh on Saturday, call for which had been given by the BJP. It is said that the situation took an ugly turn, after Santosh and his supporters assaulted Ravi. Ravi, who was seriously injured, was admitted into a hospital in the city.

Incensed by this assault, over 150 Bajrang Dal activists ransacked and vandalized Aiyanger Bakery located in a building owned by Santosh. Later, they also reportedly approached the house of Santosh with the intention of beating him up. The policemen of Konaje station, who were alerted about the incident, rushed to the spot in time, and averted a major tussle. Santosh, his supporters, and Bajrang Dal leaders, were summoned to the police station to sort out the issue.

A case has been registered in this respect. Investigation is on.

    Agree with Shive Ganesh. Apply Iran or Saudi Law on culprits in public. This will reduce destruction of National wealth and saving in tax burden.

    Nothing new, that is Bajranga culture. After all who is Bajrang ? They are nothing but a collection of primitive, uneducated, unemplyed, mislead youth financed either by their own higher ups or the RSS or the BJP.

    BAN all types of bundhs - both sponsored by irresponsible governments and/or by others. These people, after calling the bundh and enforcing it with goondagiri, claim that the bundh was total and successful. the illiterates dont know more than 50% shops/businesses close down their shutters because of fear and not in favour of the so called cause. Unfortunate, that a fastest developing country is not allowed to achieve its rightful place in the future because those people does not have the country's interest at heart.
