Uppinangady, Mar 24: Unidentified miscreants have reportedly tried to spoil the business of a Hindu trader and disturb communal harmony by sending a defamatory message over WhatsApp.
Yathish Shetty (49), son of Ganapathi Shetty, has been running a business by the name Suvya Ice Cream Parlour at Uppinangady market.
Unidentified miscreants have sent a message over WhatsApp on Thursday, March 24 with malicious intentions, says a complaint by Shetty. The false message reads, “We do not sell any goods to Muslims from our shop. The business provided by Hindu brethren is sufficient for us," and is projected to be by the Association of Hindu Traders in Uppinangady.”
A police case under Section 505 (2) of IPC is registered at Uppinangady police station.
